Our Story
Come warm up your cold days and cool down your hot days with a stay at our B&B. Ocean Bluebird B&B opened its door in 1996 by hosting visiting academic and sports team members when they traveled to Prince of Wales Island. We came as teachers and decided to stay in retirement. Our home is fortunate to have a self-contained comfortable guest suite with private entrance, separate key, and designated private parking. We accommodate school professionals, church, doctors/nurses, and periodic working groups that need a place to stay for longer visits. We love our home and wish to share views from our covered deck overlooking Bucareli Bay, a great way to unwind in the midst of nature.

Open year round, we offer a self-contained space complete with bedroom, galley kitchen, bathroom, living room, and dining space on ground level. There are 2 queen beds, one in a bedroom and the other in the living space that resembles a hotel setting. There is a twin bed available for extra bedding if needed. Available for short or long visits.
Directions to Ocean Bluebird B&B
If you are driving, you will be coming in on the Craig/Klawock Highway. You will pass through the town of Klawock and travel 7 miles to Craig. In town you will pass the AC Thompson House grocery store on the right side of the road. You will take the next left on Hamilton Street by the Harbor Master’s building. South Cove Harbor will be on your right side. Traveling south on Hamilton, you will pass the Shelter Cove Lodge on your right. You will take the next left on Sunnyside Drive. Go up hill passing two houses before taking an immediate left turn at the top of the hill onto Oceanview Drive. Continue down the road until you reach the two-story red cedar home on the right side of the road. It’s the last house on the road. Drive up the driveway to the end of the drive. Perfect place for a wonderful vacation! Private apartment with lots of room, fully furnished kitchen, private entrance and parking space. The views from the deck are amazing! Don and Lorraine are great hosts!
Our stay was amazing! The rental was very quiet and comfy. It was nice having a kitchen for the days we didn’t want to eat out. The beds were very comfy too. Will be returning!
We loved spending evenings on the deck whale watching!
